Schöner Bildband, guter Preis. Qualitativ nichts zu bemängeln, Text angemessen.
Ein sehr schöner Hochglanz-Bildband über das ‚Universalgenie der Renaissance‘, wie ihn der Untertitel nennt. „Wohl kein anderer Künstler hat solch ein gewaltiges künstlerisches Erbe hinterlassen, und dies als Maler, Bildhauer und Baumeister.“ Gleichwohl gab der Künstler der Skulptur gegenüber der Malerei den Vorzug und hielt sie für „…weniger mannhaft und weniger rein…“. Der Band ist in 5 Kapitel und eine Chronologie unterteilt. Neben den zum Teil ganz- oder doppelseitigen Ölgemälden und Fresken beherbergt der Bildband auch Abbildungen der Marmorplastiken, Kohle- und Kreidezeichnungen sowie Skizzen und Studien.
